We are Christ-followers. That doesn’t mean we’re all perfect or holy or that we get it right all the time. That simply means that we are committed to loving God and other people as Christ calls us to do. We believe that “other people” is not exclusive. “Other people” is inclusive of all ethnicities, all economic levels, all ages, both straight and LGBTQ+ folks, and all nationalities. As Christ-followers, we are called to care for and serve all kinds of people.

As Christians, we believe that the Bible is the inspired sacred text of our faith—but most of us do not believe that it is meant to be read literally.We believe that the Bible is a collection of different books, different types of literature, and different historical contexts.So we read from the Bible regularly and preach from it weekly—but we do so with diligent study to interpret the silver thread of God’s truth.Jesus said that that truth is: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind.This is the first and greatest commandment.And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.” (Matthew 22: 37 - 39) So that is the lens through which we read the scriptures.
